Carrying the Legacy Forward: A Call to Support from Noam Mouelle, 2026 President

Dear alumni and supporters,

The squad is in a really strong place heading into the crew announcements. The standard across the group has been excellent and the depth this year is seriously impressive, with competition for seats in every boat. We’ve built good momentum through the winter, and our focus is now on converting raw fitness into boat speed. Leading the squad this year has been a huge privilege and I’ve been impressed by the team’s commitment. The athletes and coaches hold themselves to the highest standard each day, and I cannot wait to see the result of their hard work on race day.

The team relies heavily on supporters such as yourself to perform at the highest level. During my time at Cambridge I’ve seen the impact of donations on our training and racing, whether that’s allowing us the race the best university programmes in the world at overseas races like HOCR, supporting specialised coaching, investing in new ergs, or helping provide the basics that allow athletes to recover properly between sessions.

Thank you to everyone who has contributed in the past, and I really hope you’ll consider taking part this year. Your support makes a real difference, and we’re determined to make the most of it, so the athletes and coaches can focus fully on performance and leave nothing to chance. We are also deeply grateful to the members of the 1986 Blue Boat for generously funding the new men’s eight, to the donors whose gift have underwritten the 2026 Fixture Series and a new set of telemetry, and to our supporters in the US who have already pledged funding for HOCR 2026. If you would like to come along to the boat naming during Tideway Week, please gather on the embankment at approximately 10:30am on Friday 3 April. All are welcome.
